Digiwar Player Guide
Your complete guide to surviving and thriving in the world of Digiwar
🚀 Getting Started
1.1 - Offline & Online Game
Digiwar lets you choose how you play, with both offline and online modes available.
Offline does not require an internet connection.
Online requires an internet connection and an account on our website.
In online mode, an energy system limits how long you can play in a row. This prevents players from rushing through the game and gaining an unfair advantage by playing 24/7.
Online mode allows you to:
- Create a faction and invite your friends
- Chat with other players
- Participate in PvP battles and raids against real players
Each PvP battle affects your PvP Score which start at 1000. Your current PvP score is displayed at the top of the screen.
1.2 - Rarity System
In Digiwar, both items and characters have a rarity level:
Common • Uncommon • Rare • Epic • Legendary • Unique
Rarity generally indicates the overall strength or usefulness of an item or character. Higher rarity usually means better statistics. Some items are purely cosmetic, while others provide gameplay advantages.
🎮 Controls & UI
2.1 - Selecting & Unselecting Characters
Selecting a single character:
- In your hometown, touch/click a character directly on the map to select them
- In an adventure zone, your team's nameplates are displayed at the top left of the screen. Touch/click a nameplate to select a character
Selecting multiple characters:
- Double touch/click on the map, then drag your finger or mouse to create a selection box
- All characters inside the box will be selected
- In an adventure zone, you can also select or deselect characters by clicking their nameplates
Unselecting characters:
- In your hometown, touch/click twice anywhere on the map to deselect all characters
- You can also deselect characters at any time by clicking their selected nameplates at the top left of the screen
- In your hometown, nameplates will disappear once characters are unselected
2.2 - Character Information
Each character is unique. Their stats, skills, and job define who they are.
You can view a character's information by clicking the character icon at the bottom right of the screen.
2.3 - Character Equipment
Each character can equip gear. In Digiwar, a character can equip both a melee weapon and a ranged weapon at the same time.
Your character will automatically choose the appropriate weapon depending on the situation. (See Combat & Enemies for more details.)
You can access the equipment panel from the character information screen.
2.4 - Map
The map is where every adventure begins. By clicking on a POI (Point of Interest), you can see its description and difficulty level.
Difficulty changes depending on which characters you select for the adventure. You can select up to 4 characters.
2.5 - Build Menu
The build menu shows all the buildings you can construct in your town, along with their cost, limits, and features.
All buildings start at level 1, and most can be upgraded up to level 10. Increasing a building's level improves its effects and unlocks additional benefits.
2.6 - Inventory
The inventory displays all items you have collected so far, including consumables, materials, and equipment.
- Click an item to view its details
- Consumables can be used directly from the inventory
- Some consumables apply to a single character. When used, a menu will appear allowing you to choose which character receives the effect
🌍 Exploration & Survival
3.1 - Hometown & Points of Interest (POI)
In Digiwar, you are the proud owner of a camp in the woods, which will soon transform into a full town as you progress.
The main objective of building a town is to unlock more features for your characters and for the game in general, and also to provide a place to relax before your next adventure.
Sometimes, events can happen in the world, and your town may need to defend itself against different intrusions.
Points of Interest (POIs) are any other locations on the map that are adventure zones. They will appear on your map as you advance through the game.
3.2 - Exit & Passage Areas
While exploring POIs, you will encounter exit and passage zones.
Exit zones can be either yellow or white:
- Yellow means you have never used this exit before
- White means you have already passed through it
When you leave a POI through a yellow exit zone, new POIs will be unlocked on your map.
Passage areas lead you to another part of the same POI, such as a cavern or a sewer.
All of your characters (who are alive) must be gathered on an exit zone to be able to use it. A passage is different: it stays within the same POI, so you can use it either with one character at a time, or with all of them if you prefer.
3.3 - Death & Revival
Your main hero is immortal. When they die, they will revive in your Hometown with low health.
However, other characters you meet during your journey may not be so lucky. If they die, there is a small chance they can be resurrected if you have built a Church in your town, and another small chance they may survive if you have a Hospital.
Once you unlock these buildings, you can inspect them to see exactly how they work.
If they didn't survive, you can find them at the same place where you first found them.
3.4 - Water & Food: Essential Resources
Throughout the game, you will collect water and food, which are necessary for every living character in Digiwar.
Time System: One real-life hour equals one day in Digiwar, so 24 in-game days pass in 24 real-life hours.
In the character information panel, you can see the daily food and water consumption at the top for each character. The food shown in the character information panel is for one real day (24 hours real-life time).
Running out of food will cause your character to lose health and put them in a bad state for an entire day before they eventually die the day after.
3.5 - Day & Night Cycle
One hour in real time equals one full day in Digiwar:
- Day: 45 minutes
- Night: 15 minutes
Nighttime can be very dark in some areas. You can find flashlights, torches, or headlamps to help you see in the dark.
Exploring a POI at a specific time may trigger special events. Watch out for what is lurking in the dark!
🏗️ Blueprints, Crafting & Skills
4.1 - Blueprints
A blueprint is a plan that allows you to learn how to build a new type of building, such as a hospital, a garage, or a church.
Once a blueprint is learned, you can start constructing that building from the build menu in your town.
4.2 - Crafting
Some characters, depending on their job or status—such as Cook, Scientist, or Carpenter—can craft recipes.
The available recipes depend on the character's skill level in that profession.
4.3 - Skill Books
While scavenging the world for materials and equipment, you may sometimes find skill books.
Each skill book grants a specific skill and level. To learn a skill book above level 1, a character must first have learned the previous level of that skill.
Any character can learn any skill, up to the limits allowed by that character.
⚔️ Combat & Enemies
5.1 - Character Behavior (AI)
In the character information panel, you will see a brain icon near the equipment section, with AI written under it.
This represents the character's behavior settings. Behavior can be configured by the player and determines how the character reacts in combat or while in town, depending on different situations.
For example, behavior settings can affect how a character engages enemies, retreats, or prioritizes actions.
5.2 - Weapons
No weapon equipped: Characters will fight using their fists.
Melee weapon equipped: The character will use it automatically in close combat.
Dual wielding: If a ranged weapon is also equipped, the character will automatically switch between ranged and melee attacks based on the distance to the enemy and bullets left. When an enemy gets too close or there is no bullets in inventory, the character will switch to melee combat.
5.3 - Enemies
Different types of enemies roam the world of Glendale. Some enemies require stronger characters and better tactics than others.
If a character dies, they may sometimes be revived using certain equipment, but revival is not always possible.
Enemies can appear at any time while adventuring. They can be human—or something else entirely. When you encounter a group of armed enemies, think twice before engaging!
👥 Characters & Progression
6.1 - Character Diversity
There are over 100 characters you can encounter in Digiwar, each with a unique name, appearance, stats, and skills.
Characters also have different personalities and emotional traits, and they may comment on situations or express their opinions during the game.
There are more than 25 jobs and statuses, such as Civilian, Doctor, Mechanic, Bandit, and many more.
6.2 - Experience & Leveling
Characters gain experience by fighting enemies and completing certain quests.
The maximum level a character can reach is level 30.
Each time a character levels up, you can assign +1 point to one of the four primary stats.
6.3 - Character Stats
Primary Stats:
💪 Strength - Increases a character's maximum health and melee damage.
🎯 Agility - Improves accuracy and evasion.
🧠 Intelligence - Enhances mental capabilities and special abilities.
💬 Charisma - Can unlock additional dialogue options during conversations. Charisma is also an important stat for leaders.
Each character starts with different values in these stats, depending on their personality and background.
Additional Stats: Evasion, speed, movement speed, accuracy, range, and regeneration also exist. These are calculated from a combination of primary stats, equipment, skills, and other effects.
There are also hidden or advanced stats, such as resistance to radiation, poison, fire, and physical damage.
6.4 - Skills
Characters can learn new skills as they level up.
Some characters start with predefined skills. Each time a character reaches level 10, they can learn a new skill from a skill book, up to a maximum of 3 learned skills, in addition to any skills they started with. The player character can have up to 5 skills.
A character cannot learn the same skill more than once.
