A deck is a bunch of cards player use to play a game. In shroud of the avatars, a skill is considered like a card.
As your skill get higher, you will unlock more cards for that skill until you get a total of 5 cards (before specialisation).
When you reach 80 in specialisation of that tree, you will get a 6th card. This is the amount of card you have the right to put
into your deck.
There is 3 kind of deck you can create.
Dynamic, which consist of multiple card in a single skill slots.
Locked, which is one single card in a skill slot.
Mixed, which is a combination of locked and dynamic skill slots.
Lets check out what it look like.
Here you can see the lock is active. That is a locked skill slot.
Here you can see a skill slots with the lock greyed out. That mean its unlocked and may have more card behind it (Dynamic).
Mixed is a combination of the 2. The maximum number of skill slot is 10. But using a dynamic slots, you can put more cards in one single slots.
First, to create a deck, press Y in the game to view the deck creation panel and select New Deck on the left.
A new windows will open. There is 3 parts to understand here.
On the left is all your skill available that you have unlocked during your adventure.
On the right is the skill you add to dynamic slots.
On the bottom is the skill used in the combat bar, also where you going to choose if the slot is dynamic or locked. After putting a card there (or a glyph, same thing)
you will be able to choose to lock or unlock that slot.
To create a locked deck, you have to drag and drop a glyph from the left to the bottom. It will be locked automatically. Fill it all out, save, and check how it goes when you are in combat mode.
You should see all your skill there and locked. Locked deck is very simple to create.
There is 2 way to create a dynamic deck. You can put all card you want from the left to the right, and leave all the skill slot at bottom empty. When you will use that deck, cards will show
randomly in any of the skill slots. You can have as many cards as you want (not limited by the 10 slots).
Another way is to take a skill, lets say we use Thrust from the bladed combat tree, and place it in one of the bottom slots, then click the lock to unlock that skill slot. Now you have your card there
and you can place 4 other on the right of the panel. What will happen is all the card of the same kind, that you have choosen the slot for, will only appear there (if there is no other empty slot).
If you leave empty slots, remember that any cards can show up in that slots.
So when making a dynamic deck, you can either choose to have cards pop everywhere OR choose specifically which slot is going to be used to show those cards. You can have more than 1 kind of cards in a slot.
By unlocking a slot after placing a card, choose another kind of card and place it in that slot too. It will appear behind that card like this:
A mixed deck is a combination of locked and dynamic skill slots. Lets say you want the skill slot 7-8-9-0 to be healing and defense skill and need to have those card all the time cause its important. You are more likely
to want this card to be locked, so they are always available and ready to use when you are fighting. Now lets say you want slots 1-2-3-4-5-6 to be attack skill. You can either choose to have them locked, or have many kind
of cards in some dynamic slots (usually called Hammering slot) because its one button that you press often to deliver all kind of attack. In Shroud of the Avatars, there is ranged skill, close combat skills, Area of Effect (AoE) skills.
You may want to have all close combat skill in one single slots, all ranged skill in another slots, AoE in another, etc. This is more likely used to remember what button does what and when, because while you are fighting you wont have
much time to look at what card is available for you to use. You want to to run around knowing that slot 4 is ranged and press the button skill 4 while running without checking and knowing what card is gonna play.
Global cooldowns is when you use a skill and you see all the other glyph locked for a short period of time (usually 1 seconds, depending of what skill you are using). Fireball for example have a longer global cooldown.
Locked cooldowns is when a card is locked and you use that skill, first a global cooldown happen, then you see your card turn out like this:
This is called "Heat". Since you have a maximum card available depending how high is your skill, each time you use that skill as a locked card it will use 1 of those card available then go into a cooldown. The cooldown is determined
by the skill itself and is written within the skill description. Having a 30 second skill cooldown, if you have 5 card and you use it all in 5 seconds, you will have to wait that the first card used become available again (after 25 seconds).
Dynamic cooldown is the same thing as a locked cooldown, except when you use a dynamic slot YOU decide the numbers of card available to that skill by putting them on the right part of the deck creation panel.
Charging a skill is pressing a button long enough that you see a little green number on the bottom right of that skill appear, the skill get more powerful as you charge and the number of charge depend of how many card you have available
for that skill. Using a 5x charged skill only use 1 card cooldown. So you can charge again up to 4 or wait until that cooldown is off to be able to use the maximum 5 charge again.
Stacking is the same thing as charging a skill except its for dynamic deck. When using a kind of card in multiple slots, you can then combine them together to create the "charge". Lets say i have slot 1 using Thrust in a dynamic slot
but its also appearing on slot 2 and 3. When 2 of them appear, i can drag and drop them on each other to create a more powerfull version of that spell. There is different way to combine those card together. You can press R then both
skill slot number with keyboad, or drag and drop on each other, or hold the slot skill 2 then at the same time press the skill slot 3. Its up to you to choose what fit you the best.
Combo are available in the deck creation panel and it show you what card can be combined together to create a new card, called combo. It work the same way as stacking. But this is special, cause you can use a dynamic slot AND a locked slot
to create a combo. Lets say skill slot 1 have Juxtapose as a locked skill, and skill slot 2 have Douse as a dynamic slot skill.
You can drag and drop the locked into the dynamic and it will create the combo but you cannot drag and drop from the dynamic to the locked. The slot used for creating the combo has to be dynamic.
